Implementation

Growing together – Whakatupu Ngātahi lays out a strategic approach to growing the Waikato region’s aquaculture industry. Economic success will be balanced with positive community, cultural and environmental outcomes.

At its heart is sustainability and innovation, setting actions to make aquaculture more productive, environmentally sustainable and adaptable to climate change and other environmental impacts.
These actions aim to achieve the four outcomes for aquaculture in the Waikato region.

The Waikato Regional Aquaculture Group (WRAG) is tasked with implementing the strategy and is developing a roadmap to help achieve the region’s vision. We have identified the key building blocks, below, to double the value of the industry by 2044.
